The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that about 4,300 undergraduates have qualified for the Fall 2013 Dean's List. The students represent nearly all of Rhode Island's cities and towns, all six New England states, New York, New Jersey, and many other states and nations.

A total of 1,303 undergraduate students achieved the criteria required for WPI's fall 2013 Dean's List. The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differ from that of most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.

Widener University, one of the nation's premier universities for civic engagement and applied leadership, in partnership with WCAU-TV NBC10, today announced the winners of the Widener University High School Leadership Awards. In its third year, the program recognized 134 students from high schools in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware who demonstrate courage and leadership within their communities. Students were selected for their abilities to stand up for what is right, address a wrong and make a difference in their communities or schools. Nearly 370 students graduated from Lebanon Valley College, Annville, Pa., Saturday, May 11. Commencement ceremonies, held in the LVC Gymnasium, included an address by Dr. Philip Benesch, associate professor of political science and winner of the 2012 Thomas Rhys Vickroy Award for teaching.
